Do you think I still have a chance with him?

I am leaving to go to a different school next year but he is staying. We're 14, 8th grade. We'd be a perfect couple but I never really tried getting him to like me until the last wk of school. I chickened out when I wanted to ask him to dance. He doesn't have a fb, IM or anything on the computer where I could contact him. I don't have his cell phone number but my friend does. I can't just ask for it then randomly text him. Any advice on how to get in contact with him or should I give up? I REALLYYY like this boy and think he might be the one.
