I have an out of control flea problem! How can I get them out of the house? What are the best methods?

We got an 8 wk old kitten 4 days ago. My friend told me she noticed fleas. Vet confirmed it. All 4 cats were treated with Frontline Plus. I sprayed Adams flea spray all over the couches and beds and washed all of the bedding. Tomorrow I'm going to vacuum with moth balls in the canister as directed by a friend. We are going away for a few days and leaving kitties here so does anyone have any other suggestions that would take care of it before we left? PLEASE HELP!!!!

In Arizona, the summer is unforgiving and ants are swarming in by the hundreds. I did a little online research and found out the effective solution is to bait ants with a sweet and a poison so that the poison will spread to other ants/the source. After that, I cleaned out a Windex bottle and put sugar water, honey, and bleach into it, shook it up and sprayed it on my lawn. However, I've noticed that the ants seem to be quite enjoying the solution because I put a LOT of honey and sugar water (about ten ounces) along with barely two to three ounces of bleach. I was just wondering if the amount of bleach was too small because the ants aren't dying and seem to be eating it up if anything. Thanks.

How can I comfort my 6 wk old kitten?

I just got a 6 wk old kitten 3 dys ago. He quickly adapted to me, he's very needy and follows me everywhere constantly meowing. I feed him, he eats, does his business, and continues to meow up at me. I pick him up to try and comfort him and he just clings on to me, still meowing. I just want him to cuddle up with me and make him feel safe but me picking him up and holding him next to me but that doesn't seem to help, he just keeps meowing and trying to crawl down my back. Your sister needs to be followed by a gyn-onc from now on to check for recurrences. The heavy bleeding you've described doesn't sound to me like an ovarian cancer symptom, though it sounds more like a uterine problem, and it could be something benign. Had a baby on the 1st episiotomy hurts soo bad?

I just had my son on june 1st. I had an episiotomy and it was soo painful the 1st wk but hurt less by the 2nd wk. By the middle of the 3rd wk It started to hurt again. I would look at my self down there a lot to see how I was healing and everything looked fine. When it started hurting again I looked and noticed there is bumps around my stitches. This is the 4th day it hurts and the pain is getting so much worse. I can barely walk or sit down. If I'm laying down its hard to get up :'( I literally cry bcuz of the pain. I went to the ER nd the dr said the stitches were fine and the bumps weren't infected and he gave me pain med. But wat can they be? This isn't normal is it? Honey- she is NOT being aggressive - she is playing. All puppies play bite. I have a 5 month old shih tzu maltese mix and he is the best dog we ever had but he get the puppy crazies at times and chases our feet. He does not nip near as often as he did a few months ago and he is getting gentler and minding better. You need to learn to manage a puppy- you should correct, gently but firmly- no smacking. Help her learn the work "no." And you should substitute- she wants to play, so toss a toy for her to catch or we have a stuffed toy tied to a short pole we wiggle around for him so he chases that. Tie a rope on a toy and drag it down the hall. The pup wants motion- not just a toy laying there. Please remember ALL puppies want to play bite in the beginning and there is no shortcut way to turn a pup into a grown up. She will act like a puppy for a year. It is not her breed or aggression or wickedness or anything else - she is just being a puppy. She will calm down as she grows and as you work with her. Good luck. I love this mix. Our dog is very smart, very sweet, very playful and I bet your dog will be too if you keep working with her.

My face looks extremely bloated and puffy..is it my diet?

Im a 22 year old guy, 6'3 and went from 158 to 163 pounds over a few weeks, as I'm trying to bulk up and gain weight. But it seems like throughout this attempt my face is bloated and looks like a puffer fish, and I don't like it. I could probably easily blame it on my diet, as most of what i ate to gain some weight was alot of fast food, and some processed foods too like roman noodles and poptarts. ok I'll try to make this as short and to the point as possible. first off, no one really likes a person who makes such a big deal of things. That's one thing you should change. I'm not trying to be mean but you should know. Also you should do both things you suggested. Apologize sincerely and then give him some space. Sometimes I get really annoyed with a friend and getting space really helps get rid of all that tension. You said he likes you so when he's ready for you guys to start talking again he should contact you. I would recommend waiting until he starts talking to you again but you could also start talking to him again after giving him some time to sort things out in his life. maybe for a snack only have one slice of bread or half a slice because too many carbs will make you gain weight. try not to have similar meal in the same day, you will get too much of the nutrients that's in that meal which isn't a good thing. fruits that are white on the inside(apples, bananas, peaches...) have more calories, so other fruits like oranges or plums would be a better choice if you eat it that often. try having a salad with seasoned-rice vinegar instead of dressing would be good to pair with a meal since it fills you up and is very low in calories, fat, sugar, ect. hope this helps!

I read the other day that it is healthier to eat whole grains and to avoid processed grains, but then I saw on the internet folks who sell 'whole grain flour' and I became very confused. Please help. My 40g tank went from cloudy/milky to brackish, or more of a yellow tint...Can anyone help me?

The tank was recently set up, and only holds ONE goldfish which is about 2-3 inches long. It is one of the tiny feeder fish you can get for less than a dollar. It has no live plants, and the decor is same that was in its original 1.5g tank. The water went cloudy a day or so after setup, and I waited a wk b4 using a store bought treatment used to clear. About 15 min after the treatment, the water turned dark brown, almost like river water, u could barely see through it. It has since lightened to a yellowish (bout a wk later). The filter is a carbon insert type that says it should handle a tank of this size, however it is old. Gary (the fish) seems totally oblivious but i would like to stay away from using more chemicals if possible. Is this something I have to just wait out, or are there things I can do to facilitate clearer water?? From other questions Ive read, I now know it seems the tank had not cycled, and i jumped the gun. I just had my son on june 1st. I had an episiotomy and it was soo painful the 1st wk but hurt less by the 2nd wk. By the middle of the 3rd wk It started to hurt again. I would look at my self down there a lot to see how I was healing and everything looked fine. When it started hurting again I looked and noticed there is bumps around my stitches. This is the 4th day it hurts and the pain is getting so much worse. I can barely walk or sit down. If I'm laying down its hard to get up :'( I literally cry bcuz of the pain. Not all people who describe themselves as atheists are rational, and some in that survey do not even seem to know what an atheist is. While certain religious beliefs may rule out certain superstitions, I cannot see how you can define religion in such a way to differentiate it from superstition, so exclude religious beliefs from superstitious ones seems wrong to me. They are merely (in some cases at least) mutually exclusive superstitions.

Prediabeties with symptoms of hypoglycemia.?

I had a test run about a month ago H1ac and it showed my average being 121 glucose level or whatever. They said i have high blood sugar but most times it feels really low. I ate a piece of cake not much and i felt fine but then i got cold clammy hands and shakey, my stomach feels like i am going to vomit and i feel like i am trembling. My eyes also hurt and i feel disoriented. How can i be hyperglycemic with the symptoms of hypo.

I have an annoying little cousin?

Listen im tired of women always over reacting to ****. Its obvious that the guy is busy. Women always do that but if its the other way around you are not concerned at all. The fact that I see something about scholarship grad makes me believe that he is actually a busy person. And when told you he was working on his lab report why would you ask him if he is busy? Overweight girlfriend problem?

My girlfriend is 30 y/o, 5'4", and weighs around 135lbs. We both know she is overweight & looks it, and needs to lose about 15-20lbs. She's been trying...goes to the gym 3 times/wk, walks every other day, doesn't eat much most days.... But about once a week, she'll just pig out! Eat junk or over-eat at dinner...sometimes eating as much (or more than) me. I think she's sabotaging her weight loss by these once-a-week binges, but she says she's just hungry from nearly starving herself all week. But I told her if she wants to be skinny, she needs to think like the Hollywood- types. Think of food as bad, or the enemy. I've actually had to take her plate away when it looks like she's about to eat more than her allotted calories for the day! It's like she loses self-control, and I have to do it for her! How is she ever going to be hot if she keeps over-eating like that? What can I do? I want her to be thin, but I especially don't want her to get any fatter than she already is. My brother refers to her as "chunk" behind her back & my friends periodically ask me why I continue to live with her & tell me I can do better. I love her, but I know they're right. How else can I help her (make her?) reach her goal?

The best thing to do is to let your counselor tell your mom, suicidal is serious even if has even crossed your mind once! I know your family is going through a lot but if youcommittedd suicide they would be going through a whole bunch more than if you told them before it happens.You need to let it happen.

TTC.. Does this sound like symptoms?

I miscarried months ago. My fiance && I have been ttc ever since, but no luck. Last month I didn't get my period. I had really bad cramps on day 13 my ovulation day. I had sex that day. My boobs have been sore for 4days now with cramping but I'm not supposed to start for another wk && couple days. I've been emotional && MADD for no reason. Sometimes when I wipe I have creamy white discharge, I'm very gassy && hungry alot, by back has been hurting very bad. Could this be symptoms of finally conceiving . Thanks

no its not too early now when you become pregnant you have to get it two or three weeks to show positive on the test. Some women can still get there period even when pregnant i knew a woman who had her period and didnt find out she was pregnant until she was four months along. anyways it sounds like you are pregnant i suggest go see a doctor or buy a pregnancy test at a store.

How has your diet changed?

I eat healthier in general. I'm 15 and in less than 2 years I've started drinking almond milk, I rarely eat frozen foods because of the high amount of sodium. I stopped practically binge eating at meals, so I've lost a good amount of weight. I don't eat out much, and in general I'm staying away from "bad" foods. I'm a LOT healthier, now. (:

Ive been goint to the gym on and off for the past year i admit i didnt have the best diet but ive been going the last 3 months constantly 6 days a week andhave really cleaned up my diet cut out fast food and changed to wholemeal and brown foods etc..i'm 5 ft 6..8 and half stone which i no is a grand weight i dont actually want to lose weight but my body fat is 23% and it just wont go any lower its so annoying i'm doing an hour of cardio 5- 6 days a wk and 30 mins of strength traing 4 days a week and I feel and look the exact same my lower body is the problem with 35 inch hips and 22 inch thighs my trainer at the gym has said maybe this is just the body fat and shape i'm meant to be.I know i;; never be ultra skinny ill always be bigger on bottom but why isnt my body fat going down or legs or hips getting smaller :(

Evidently the Tea Party caucus is causing problems for the Republicans in the area of the budget and US debt. The Republicans are generally not that big on budget cuts except during time of prosperity although they aren't in favor of further spending like drunken sailors.

Housebreaking puppy please help?

My 9 wk. old Scottish Terrier puppy refuses to go to the bathroom outside. I have him on a strict feeding schedule per vets advice. About 20 minutes after eating he starts sniffing & circling the floor but when I take him out he wont go. I bring him back in wait until he shows signs again then take him back out, still refuses to go outside. I have cleaned the "accident areas" in the house with Natures Miracle so there is no scent to draw him. When he's outside all he wants to do is chew on everything in site instead of do his business. I have tried using a squirt bottle & pennies in a can to deter this behavior to no avail. Also, even though I get up at least 2-3 times during the night to take him out he will pee in his cage. His cage is dry when I take him out, he refuses to go, I take him back in wait 15-30 minutes and he has peed in his cage. I thought dogs didn't like to go in their "den". I have a divider in the cage to make it as small an area as possible so he wont soil his sleeping area. Any adice? I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am at my wits end. Never had these problems with other puppies in the past.

Should we lease a convenience store?

My husband wants to lease a convenience store. He is almost 65 and plans on retiring in about 1 1/2 yrs from his current job. He wants to go ahead and lease this store to have extra income from it when he retires. I would have to run the store by myself until then. We would also have to borrow about 1/2 of the money to stock the store with and would have to use our rental home for collateral. Then we would have the lease paymnent on the store and a bank payment on the loan. The store has been closed for about 3 months. The people who own the store ran it from 1979 until 1997 and then thier daughter had it until 2009 and then it has been leased to somene else until it closed 3 months ago. The couple that own it made a good living from it but the economy was better when they had it. The store has a deli in it, the mainstay of the store was cigarettes sells and they have gas pumps. I am afraid I would not be able financially to hire someone to work some and i would have to run it 7 days a wk, 12 hrs a day plus another hour to clean and cash out at night. It is the only store from from one town to the next which is about 15 miles. The last people who had it gave it a bad reputation so i don't know how long it would take to build it back up. I am also 53 yrs old and have just closed a variety shop that i had due to not enough business. It was a jewelry and handbag shop and i sold floral home decor also. I would like for him to have his dream of having this store but don't want to lose everythng we have in the process. He supported me in my business venture but i did not invest this kind of money nor did i borrow any.Can someone please give me some goodadvice?

The man i bought it off reckons he's a technician and when it happened he said it was the thermostat freezing up, so told me to empty fridge out, turn off, leave freezer door open for 24hrs and turn it back on. This seems to wrk but after a wk or two it does it again. I have read reviews on this model on net and alot of people r having the same prob. How do i fix this or shld i just get a new fridge

I have multiple questions about my diet and the problems i've been having..(Please help)?

Okay so, for a long time now, i've been dieting and exercising along with it obviously. Btw im a 14 year old girl, and my height is 5'6... weight, ill get into that later..(you'll see). So now for my exercise, i recently started running the mile... i was starting with once a week, then i eventually started running it almost everyday(trying) with the weather being crappy, rain etc. , also my brother, was taking me to the high school track where i live and that kind of stopped between him working, not having time, and being busy most of the time. So that stopped so i started instead walking down to my school which is literally a 6 minute walk away and running around the field 4 times or either the school(got sick of the field so just recently started running the school) which is a mile cause i did in gym class. I think this whole week, ever since monday, i've ran it everyday. i don't even know how to tell you my weigh and if its water or fat, it sucks! im either 157, 162,163,164,or 165. i was 163 last night, started out with 162 this morning, and now im 165! Ever since february, my doctor's appointment, i was 168, and i haven't seen that weight in a while so i think ive lost that.. i was told that i was not fat, but basically overweight for my age. I started cutting back little by little at that time, and it was hard for me so i stopped,(which i REALLY wish i didn't have) and started eating again, however somehow maintaining that weight(i forget howw) then it got easier in march, i figured out more ways, obviously april, and may... and i forget when but like i said i started running the mile little by little and now. So, my question is losing weight.. like more than 10.. but i actually think i know why this hasn't been going well is because the main reason, my dieting. It's been HORRIBLE and sooo hard for me. Between these awful cravings(my mom thinks im a sugar addict) and not being able to control it whatso ever. and the fact that i haven't been losing any weight, as much as i want to in this amount of time that im starting to give up then start up back again which is taking me incredibly soooo much amount of time than what i want it to. the beginning of today was going good for me, i was thinking about running the mile twice, but im soo tired and i just recently got a pain on the top of my leg, bottom, and it feels like a bruise and hurts running... there always has to be some freaking problem making it even HAAARDER for me! ugh! sorry.. the end of today though, not so good. i skipped dinner, thinking i would lose more, but it ended up backfiring me from being sooo hungry for the rest of the night. i did eat watermelon and a banana for dinner. but so farr ive aten 2 yogurts, two ice cream sandwhiches, ice cream, chips, i think maybe even a little bit more but yeah.... :( then i got really mad and started doing pushups and everything. i weighted myself, i was back at 165 and i totally gave up and started eating more but now, its stopped as i speak. My plan was to lose like all the extra fat off of me, so i could be skinny or thin again like 15-20 pounds before atleast summer, then it extended to 4th of july so i could be able to enjoy the food and wear nice clothing and look good and feel confident but now, 4th of july is just around the corner(3 days) and i have a party im attending and its not going to go well unless you could just magically lose 20 pounds in 3 days... maybe even just 10.... also, forget to mention, but my mom did say she has noticed a bloatyness i had on my face off and i look a bit less bloaty kind of that small layer of fat off if you know what i mean.... i dont get how that can happen when i was 168, 3 pounds more(well, depends if im still 165, never know with me i could go back down or whatever ugh) but that i dont get.. soooo.... PLEASE HELP ME!!! im legit so upset i could cry, and angry at myself, i wish i could just keep on running right now and do every exercise there is. so please help and i hope you understood me well. thanks~
