Getting rid of ants living in my walls entering into my home?

i have had this continuous problem for over eight years and iv tried everything they are in my window frames moving from downstairs to upstairs inside my cavorty walls. some of these are long with wings and drop on top of people. i have a 2 wk old baby now and council are taking nothing to do with my problem as they say it is just ants. im not eating or sleeping and its unhealthy for the baby. can anyone help???
