Proably the correct thing would be why aren't they buying into the Dem plan. You assume that the parties are liberal or conservative and that is just not too smart. This is a moderate country and that is why we have Dem and Republican Presidents and moderate Dems helped to vote in so many GOP congressmen in the off years election. Liberals and Republicans are the lunatic fringe of both parties. Clinton was not a liberal and Bush was not a conservative, they were both moderate bipartisan Presidents. Obama is pretty far to the left and is unable to work in a bipartisan manner which is why his Presidency has pretty much failed. He was in total control of the Federal gov, White House, courts, Congress for two years and accomplished nothing. Consensus bring progress, political extremism is for the weak minded. The answer to your question if you knew what to ask would be something like President Obama has attacked seniors on several instances since his election and even though seniors supported his candidacy he has harmed them. Seniors are the most vulnerable segment of society financially and in terms of health. Obama is the first President ever to not give people on SS a small COLA bump and has done it for both of his first years in office. When he decided in his 3rd yr in office that he was now going to control spending he decided to raise the cost of medicare premiums (to the same people who did not give a COLA). So Obama has been toxic to seniors and when asked about that, one his WH aides (who now denies saying it) was taped saying that seniors don't count and most will be dead by the time the election comes around anyhow.
